Minnesota Field Jacket (long half belt)

This is another one-off design: a traditional long half belt inspired by the classic U.S. Army M-1951 field jacket (emphasis on “inspired”). The coat is made from oil-pull medium weight seal brown Horween horsehide with a cotton liner (satin sleeves) and Waldes zipper. It features four outside pockets with button closures, button cuffs, and 2 inside G-1 style snap pockets . The upper pockets are a “bellows” type, allowing more swag to be carried. The cut is a slightly larger to accommodate layering, but still follows the classic 40′s-50′s pattern. The jacket has a bi-swing back for easy maneuvering, and a heavy duty #10 zipper with a “paperclip” pull. The sidestraps use a belt-buckle style fitting for secure fastening.

Please ignore the living mannequin in the “live” shots. He seems to think the hat was a good idea.

No matter what the rest of the family thinks.
